In March 2020, the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) launched a consultation on Part II, Sector 22 of its guidance. A new chapter has been added to the existing guidance, including crypto-asset exchange providers and custodian wallet providers within the scope of the guidance, in line with the amendments set out in the 5th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5th AMLD) and introduced in the UK domestic market by the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019.
