On October 5, 2018, the Bank of Mauritius published a series of revised acts and regulations on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF) to update the existing framework. The initiative was a result of the recent mutual evaluation report (MER) conducted by the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG), which assessed the robustness and effectiveness of the country’s AML/CTF system.
