The Central Bank of Russia has published the official figures for the period to July 2016. Payment card issuance grew by 6.5 percent compared with the first half of 2015, while Russian banks have issued 30.1m credit cards and processed 8.2bn transactions, worth a total of 23.4trn Russian rubles (US$362bn), US$131bn more than the corresponding period last year.
