1. MT GOX CEO CHARGED IN JAPAN OVER EMBEZZLEMENT
Japanese prosecutors have charged Mark Karpeles, the former head of the collapsed Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox, with embezzlement.
Karpeles is alleged to have transferred £1.7m from Mt Gox’s bank account to other accounts in October 2013.
In February 2014, the Bitcoin exchange shut down after disclosure of substantial shortfall in customer funds worth 850,000 bitcoins (£132m).
The Frenchman, who was arrested in August, has also been accused of falsifying financial data.
Lawyers acting in his name claim that Karpeles has done nothing wrong.
2. UBER OFFERS MUMBAI CASH OPTION
Uber has introduced a cash payment option for those taking a ride in Mumbai, India.
Shailesh Sawlani, Uber Mumbai executive, said: “Riders across all 22 Uber cities will now have the option of paying cash for their Uber rides, in addition to debit/credit cards and digital wallets like PayTM and Airtel Money.
