The Nova Scotia government has agreed to sweeping recommendations from the province's ombudsman over the identification of problem gamblers in casinos, which will shift far more responsibility to operators.
The ombudsman's final report, which follows a preliminary report issued in April, found casino staff rarely removed people who appear to be addicted to gambling, as required by law.
