Canada: Payments Canada Issues Update on Modernization Delivery Roadmap 2018

On December 19, 2018, Payments Canada published an update to the Modernization Delivery Roadmap 2018, a follow up to the Modernization Target State. Payments Canada’s modernization program has a broad plan to enhance the financial services industry, modernize clearing and settlement systems and the systems of member financial institutions. New systems will be supported by modernized rules and aligned with global best practices, along with the implementation of ISO 20022, the global message standard.
