On January 26, 2017, New Zealand’s Privacy Commissioner issued Amendment No. 5 to the Telecommunications Information Privacy Code 2003. It seeks to allow a system for sharing emergency caller location information, to assist emergency service providers to respond quickly to emergency calls. The amendment comes into force on March 2, 2017.
