On October 31, 2018, the Romanian government published a draft law on the establishment of certain measures to implement the Interchange Fee Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2015/751). The draft law establishes the designation of the competent authority, determination of the applicable sanctions for non-compliance, and procedures for non-court settlement of disputes between payment recipients and payment service providers should the provisions of the regulation be breached.
