The Bank of Thailand and the Central Bank of Myanmar have signed a letter of intent on a bilateral arrangement regarding the establishment of qualified Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) banks between the countries. The letter signed on November 27, 2016 provides greater access for indigenous ASEAN banks to other members’ banks, increases business opportunities between the countries and improves market relations between Southeast Asian nations.
