The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is considering a consolidation of the operators of Bacs, the Cheque and Credit Clearing Company and Faster Payments Scheme, this consolidation will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002. The two weeks consultation is the first phase, CMA will announce its decision whether to refer the Merger for a Phase 2 investigation is therefore 18 August 2017.
