On January 24, 2018 two bills on virtual currency, HI SB2853 and HI SB3082, were introduced to the Senate in Hawaii. The bills would require persons to gain a license before transmitting virtual currencies in the state, and mandate that these persons or businesses issue a warning to consumers prior to enabling such transactions.
